Printed Knits are a great way to add interest to your wardrobe March 18 2015, 0 Comments
There are so many great printed knits to choose from, the hardest part is choosing which ones to select! Colour plays an important role, as we are drawn to this first and then the fabric pattern.
Next comes the pattern design, this is best if you have a simple design to highlight your fabric choice. In the above photo I used Flair Patterns Style 1001, a scooped neck T-shirt in a 14 D and by using a combination of a stripe print & black knit, you can achieve a slimming look.
Printed knits can be used to hide as well as highlight our features. Darker colours and small to medium scale prints are great at reducing our visual size!
In the below photo I used Flair Patterns Style 1002, a cowl neck knit top in a 14 DD/E. This looks great with navy pants or dark jeans.
But you can also use larger scale prints in a combination of print & plain knits as seen in the first photo. Or by using a longer top to balance the print.
The same knit top - Style 1002 / 14 DD/E, was again used but this time in a different print, the top was made slightly longer and the lighter section of the print was used to drawn the eye to the hips area while the darker section was used to disguise the fuller top half.
And to keep a longer and slimmer silhouette use the same main colour in your top for your pants or skirts.
